Delamar Academy tutors are some of the most respected experts in the makeup industry. From top period wig specialists to fashion makeup artists, we have the very best Artists teaching here. Our students love the mix of varied and interesting characters represented by the Delamar tutors. Commanding serious experience and all working successfully in the industry today, our tutors are the backbone of Delamar Academy. With each new intake of students, we advise them to take in all the artistic opinions and techniques our tutors will impart, respecting how each tutor will do things differently. This approach allows the students to learn a range of skills and discover what works best for them.

  • Lucy Cain

    Lucy won an RTS award and was BAFTA nominated as Designer on Killing Eve series 1 and 2. Her impressive body of work includes ‘Emily’, ’The People We Hate At the Wedding’, ’Suspicion’ and ‘Us’. Lucy has also worked on The SilkWorm, Song For Marion starring Gemma Arterton and Vanessa Redgrave, the original series of The Office, Friday night Dinner, Burton & Taylor starring Helena Boham Carter and Dominic West, Lawless and Snatch… to name but a few. Trained at the BBC, Lucy’s years of experience span through many comedies and character based dramas, providing invaluable tuition in creating camera-ready character work.

  • Catherine Scoble

    BAFTA winning, always humble and never one to boast about her impressive career as a designer, our inspiring tutor Catherine loves to mentor and guide our students to achieve their full potential. Having recently designed Secret Invasion for Marvel and Disney, Catherine’s credits also include Makeup and Hair Design on A Very British Scandal, Black Mirror, Luther , Howards End, Fortitude, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, The Fourth Angel, Murder City, This Is England (feature film and TV series), Dirty War, Trial and Retribution. Catherine shows great support for our students and her team always includes Delamar graduates.

  • Jenn Drew

    Jenn comes to us with a wealth of experience on films and teaching prosthetics at University level. Her work includes Ant Man and The Wasp, The Witcher, Bohemian Rhapsody, Holby City and Jawbone. A lover of wigs, props hair and of course specialising in prosthetics, Jenn sees the whole character and encourages students to be as creative as possible, within the remit of their technical understanding. Highly professional and positive, our students love Jenn’s straight forward and practical approach to problem solving and helping them achieve their best work.

  • Laura Solari

    Oscar shortlisted for her period wig work on Cyrano, Laura has been working for 30 years with both hair and makeup. Recent work includes: Aquaman, The Lost Kingdom, Tom & Jerry, The French Dispatch. She began her career in the West End, working on shows such as Oliver, Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Mary Poppins and the Royal Opera House. After 15 years she moved into film and television, and specialises in period hair styling. Credits include Strictly Come Dancing, Downton Abbey, Game of Thrones, Anna Karenina, Captain America, Star Wars, Beauty and the Beast and Rocketman to name but a few. Alongside her film credits she is also the creator of the Advanced Hair Module at Delamar.

  • Nikki Hambi

    Our glamorous authority on beauty make-up, Nikki has worked on numerous dramas, comedies and children’s programs including Pride and Prejudice and Absolutely Fabulous. Nikki’s career spans from A-list private clients to events such as the BAFTAs, The Proms and the Royal Variety Show. Nikki was personal makeup artist to Gloria Hunniford and Caron Keating for many years, Anne Robinson for 7 years and Dame Shirley Bassey for 10 years to present day, working with her on numerous tours and publicity events. Sometimes found travelling on a private jet or providing makeup services in some of the most glamorous locations, Nikki has seen it all and teaches students the most professional tips and tricks.

  • Wendy Topping

    The “Grande Dame”… loved by the students for her warm and friendly approach, Wendy brings with her a wealth of experience from working at the Royal Opera House for the last 12 years as a freelance wig and makeup technician. Wendy’s recent work includes: Barbie, Wonka, The Great, The Crown, Cyrano and Star Wars. Wendy has been Wig Mistress on Oliver, Chicago, Oklahoma and the Witches of Eastwick, also working on Carmen Jones, Crazy for You, Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables. Wendy’s authentic approach to period hair styling provides students with high technical standards from the first day of their Period Wigs course.

  • Pauline Briscoe

    Don’t let Pauline’s very youthful looks deceive you, with over 20 years experience in the industry, our students are very lucky to learn from such an in-demand beauty and fashion makeup artist. Often requested for her work on black skin, Pauline is personal makeup artist to Serena Williams, having worked with her for many appearances including the 2018 Royal Wedding and magazine covers from Sports Illustrated to Forbes. Pauline’s other clients include Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams, Jamelia and Jennifer Hudson. Pauline has toured with Beyoncé and is a regular with A list clients. Students love Pauline’s fresh energy and up-to-the-minute glam looks.

  • Jo Frost

    Jo completed her training here on the Complete Makeup Artist Course. In her early career she learnt from assisting the greatest including Val Garland, Miranda Joyce, Charlotte Tilbury, Pat McGrath and Lucia Pieroni before joining the prestigious CLM agency in 2012. She is known for her celebration of diversity, wide-ranging technical ability, incredible skin work and high-end aesthetic with an edge. Jo specialises in fashion, beauty and more recently celebrity makeup. As a tutor, Jo comes into the academy to deliver fashion masterclasses. Known and respected for her strong opinions on what constitutes a good makeup, combined with an uncoupled identity from her work and self, Jo is extremely passionate and inspiring.

  • Mira Parmar

    Mira Parmar is a brilliantly energetic tutor at Delamar who has created many opportunities for our graduates over the years. Mira’s experience as a freelance celebrity makeup artist and hair stylist has resulted in an impressive client list that spans the beauty, fashion, advertising, celebrity, editorial, film and music industries. These clients include Joanna Lumley, Cara Delevigne, Suki Waterhouse, Aishwarya Rai, Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif, Monsoon, Accessorize, Sony, Panasonic, Vogue, ELLE, Harper’s Bazaar, Prima, Marie Claire and more. Known for her glowy skin looks and beautiful use of colour, our students enjoy learning contemporary beauty and fashion looks with Mira.

  • Joanne Byrne

    Mother hen and our lead fashion tutor, commanding over 19 years of experience, Joanne has worked on fashion icons such as Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell, alongside some of the top makeup artists in the world, including Mary Greenwell and Lisa Eldridge. Joanne has worked with Premier Makeup & Hair agency assisting their top artists, before securing large advertising jobs, editorial cover work and music videos. In addition to this Joanne worked on top TV shows including Strictly Come Dancing, Saturday Night Takeaway and The Voice. Joanne continues to absolutely love her job.

  • Sarah Jagger

    Industry insider with credentials as a top fashion, commercial and beauty makeup artist, Sarah regularly jet-sets around the world to work on huge campaigns such as Vivienne Westwood. As an industry authority on product, the students really love Sarah’s up-to-the-minute knowledge on new brands and key trends. Sarah is well known for her macro beauty skin work - she teaches students the skills and product knowledge to make skin look flawless yet without visible signs of make-up. This is a highly commercial skillset, coveted by brands and magazines. Sarah is an enthusiastic teacher and experienced presenter - working on QVC and brand partnerships, when she is not making-up models and celebrities.

  • Andrew Denton

    Delamar Graduate and huge success story, Andrew is currently enjoying a very exciting fashion career as a signed artist with agency, Premier Hair & Makeup. Andrew was fortunate to assist Mary Greenwell, amongst an array of other leading makeup artists in the industry. He also started working on the Armani shows in Paris and Milan each season with Linda Cantello. His first celebrity client was Adriana Lima, making her up in Monaco, and now works with talents including Erin Doherty, Louis Partridge and Phoebe Dynevor. Andrew signed to Premier Hair and Makeup in 2020. The students love having Andrew come back to teach when he has a spare moment in his busy schedule.

  • Nina Van Houten

    Nina is an excellent all-round Makeup artist, Wigmaker and Hairstylist with over 19 years of experience in the film, TV and theatre industries. Recently Nina has been busy setting up ’The Cursed Child’ in Tokyo and Hamburg. She did makeup and wigs for Samantha Morton on The first series of The Serpent Queen . Teaching mainly on our wig courses, Nina is a patient and supportive tutor. Nina works well with people from all skill levels with a pro- active problem-solving attitude. Known for her caring and positive approach to tricky techniques, our students love learning from Nina.

  • Raphaelle Fieldhouse

    World Champion Body Painter, winning this prestigious award twice, Raphaelle has the highest of standards, and knows how to get the best out of our students. She teaches classes and seminars all over the world. Our students are very fortunate to learn airbrushing and body art from the best. When she is not teaching, Raphaelle regularly works on commercials, events and TV shows. All of this experience feeds into her teaching here at Delamar.

  • Michelle Garande

    Michelle Garande is a Zimbabwean born and West London raised Hair educator who specialises in Afro and Multi-textured hair. Michelle has won many awards for her work in the afro hair industry. Starting her career as a salon Junior in 2012 at Afrotherapy Salon in North London, she soon realised her passion and love for hairdressing and creative Avant Garde styling. Our students learn about afro & curly hairs texture with Michelle. She teaches the important practical skills underpinned by robust theory and knowledge about curl patterns, products and styles.

  • Helen Bannon

    Helen has been doing fashion hair and makeup up for 30 years. In that time she has worked for Vogue , Elle and Marie Claire , Editorial shoots and in advertising - regularly flying all over the world for her work. Helen has looked after various bands and artists including Girls Aloud, Elbow, McFly, plus many actors including Helena Bonham Carter , Emily Blunt and Johnny Depp. Our students learn many skills from Helen’s wealth of experience in the wide media industry.

  • Holly Edwards

    Hair and makeup tutor Holly is super practical and down-to earth with the students. Since graduating from Delamar many years ago, Holly has been busy carving out a successful career working in TV drama and feature films. Recently, Holly was the Designer on TV drama ‘I Am Ruth’ starring Kate Winslet and her daughter Mia Threapleton. She has worked all over the world on productions including ‘Game of Thrones’, ‘Fortitude’, ‘Clash of the Titans’, ‘Cinderella’, ‘Guerilla’, ‘This Is England’ and ‘Stratton’. Now a successful designer, Holly has a broad skillset from hair to special effects and often hires our graduates on her jobs.

  • Charlie Wilkinson

    International Hairstylist and brand ambassador, Charlie has over 15 years in the Industry and is a regular artist for Dancing On Ice and Strictly Come Dancing for the past 5 years. The students love Charlie’s calm and easy going approach to helping them tackle some of the most challenging hairstyles. We love Charlie for how she gets the best out of the students, sharing everything from photography and hair wafting techniques to the best shots. Never a dull day when Charlie is teaching her show-stopping styles!

  • Jutta Russell

    With a broad background in theatre and high fashion, Jutta’s career to date has predominantly been in the British film and TV industry. Her credits include Mr Selfridge, Fifth Element, Saving Private Ryan, most of the Harry Potter Films, Pirates of the Caribbean, Snow White and the Huntsman, Star Wars, Thor, The Mummy and many more. Jutta also works as hair and makeup designer for TV shows and feature films. Our students love hearing about Jutta’s time on the Harry Potter films, fondly recounted to them during her makeup demonstrations.

  • Katrin Rees

    Katrin’s passion for creativity began at the London College of Fashion. After graduation with a BA in Fashion Image, she threw herself into the fashion industry and hasn’t looked back. With clients ranging from Hayley Atwell & Katherine Ryan to top politicians, Hunger Magazine to Elle.com; she shows a calm yet energetic approach to creative projects and with clients. She achieves great results from the students here, often using her most recent work in the industry as teaching inspiration. Very down to earth and practical in her approach, Katrin inspires our students to do their best.

  • Charlotte Gibson

    Charlotte specialises in luxury bridal and TV hair styling with many years experience in the industry. Her expertise in working on high pressure, fast paced shows such as Strictly Come Dancing and Dancing on Ice is invaluable for our students to learn from. Hairstyling is Charlotte’s second career and her success in the industry, following the birth of her two children, is an example and inspiration to our mature students who want to do the same.

  • Rebecca Kempton

    Rebecca is a Delamar Graduate with over 14 years experience in the Film, TV and theatre world. She has been Head of Wigs on Pretty Woman and held other senior positions on Kinky Boots, Mamma Mia The Musical, Dirty Dancing, Hamlet and Swan Lake. Our students love Rebecca’s hands-on experience and positive, infectious personality in the classroom.

  • David Brown

    As well as Prosthetics, tutor David Brown has worked in Character Costume and Creature Workshops bringing a wide range of skills to the Delamar Academy Prosthetics Workshop. Productions David has worked on include: Thor, Guardians of the Galaxy, Star Wars: Rise of Sky Walker, Game Of Thrones, The Crown, Dracula, Royal Opera House, National Theatre and English National Opera. David is passionate about using the best materials and pushing the students to create industry standard work.

  • Kate Elizabeth

    With over 15 years experience in the industry as a freelance Makeup Artist in Special Effects, Design and Makeup Application. Kate has been Head of Department on many theatre productions and brings her expertise into the Delamar Academy classroom. The students enjoy Kate’s masterclasses on theatrical makeup application, inspired by her work on shows such as Kinky Boots.
