Graduate Updates: September 2015
Our wonderful graduates have been continuing to keep in touch and updated with their current work status. Undeniably this month has to be one of the busiest month’s our agency has had this year! With so many jobs coming in we are finding it hard to keep up – almost! As well as placing graduates in a variety of jobs, productions and shows, with the help of tutors and of course the fantastic attitudes and determination from our graduates, we continue to be so proud of all our students’ professional success in the media make-up industry!
Graduate Updates: Caron Boyle
Here at the Academy it is always a genuine and rewarding pleasure to hear from our graduates with what they have been up to! Caron Boyle graduated from our 16 week Complete Make-up Artist course in July 2015, here she fills us in with how she got on as a trainee on an upcoming BBC drama based in Belfast.

We were delighted to welcome a special guest speaker to the Academy recently - Brian Kinney, who came over from Chicago 15 years ago to train at Delamar, and now works in TV and Film in Hollywood, specialising in casualty, prosthetics and SFX.

The United Make-up Artist expo was back for it's third year with more talks, live on stage demonstrations, brands selling products (often at a discount) and a make-up competition. Once again we had one of our make-up students make the podium.

Congratulations to Delamar Graduates Eve Marie Coles and Luisa Abel. Eve Marie Coles was Make-up Designer on ‘The Phone Call’, which won the Oscar for Best Live Action Short. Luisa Abel was Make-up Department Head on 'American Sniper', which was nominated for Best Picture.

As our 1 Year HE students begin their second term, they embark on a week of 5 consecutive ‘workshops’. Each unique workshop focuses on a different industry specific topic. To begin with, the students have a day of ‘Continuity’ training.

Happy New Year to everyone! We hope you all had a joyful and restful festive break. In the Academy we are straight back to what we love best… Make-up! For the 22 week Advance Make-up Artist class, this term the focus is on enhancing their Casualty and Character skills.
I hope you all had a good Christmas. Our Complete Make-up Artist graduates have finished their course and are now ready to start getting some experience in the film industry, theatre or doing fashion shoots. Our Advanced Complete Make-up Artist students will be back in January to do more advanced casualty, character and fashion make-up.
